NZ-VR experience

Today we had the people from Blake NZ-VR experience come and visit us. They were sharing videos about the ocean. These videos were about looking after our oceans and showing Kaitiakitanga. We looked at protected areas and unprotected areas. Something I noticed was there were lots of fish in the protected areas and not many fish in the unprotected areas. My favorite part was looking and seeing the big whales. I liked this part because whales are my favorite animal. I was shocked when I saw all the rubbish in the ocean because I didn’t expect to see so much. After seeing the videos we talked about not over fishing and protecting our ocean from pollution.

I really enjoyed this experience because I have never seen under the ocean in VR. It made feel happy because I saw some of favourite sea creatures.

What does world ocean day mean

I am feeling a bit sad when I look at this picture because I love sea turtles. I’ll do anything to save them even if it means not buying things packaged in plastic. Do we need plastic cups? probably not! After reading the story I hope people will stop buying things packaged in plastic because soon there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050. Plastics break down to make microplastic. You might be confused about what microplastic are. Microplastics are tiny pieces of plastic that keep breaking down. They can’t be seen by the naked eye but can be seen under microscope.
