life cycle of Axolotls

The  life cycle of Axolotls.

A female Axolotl lays multiple eggs.  Axolotl eggs start out about the size of a pea. After a couple of weeks the Axolotl hatch and look like tiny fish.

Axolotls grow into miniature versions of their parents, Axolotls grow  their legs,  did you know Axolotls have feathery gills on the side of their head?

Axolotls can regenerate parts of the body including the heart. Axolotls have lugs just in case there is no oxygen.

So to sum it up axolotls start off as tiny eggs about the size of a pea, they hatch and look like tiny fish, Axolotls are amazing as they can regenerate, just like a superhero.

NZ-VR experience

Today we had the people from Blake NZ-VR experience come and visit us. They were sharing videos about the ocean. These videos were about looking after our oceans and showing Kaitiakitanga. We looked at protected areas and unprotected areas. Something I noticed was there were lots of fish in the protected areas and not many fish in the unprotected areas. My favorite part was looking and seeing the big whales. I liked this part because whales are my favorite animal. I was shocked when I saw all the rubbish in the ocean because I didn’t expect to see so much. After seeing the videos we talked about not over fishing and protecting our ocean from pollution.

I really enjoyed this experience because I have never seen under the ocean in VR. It made feel happy because I saw some of favourite sea creatures.
